Jackson Tutorial Welcome to Jackson Tutorial! We are so excited that you are allowing us to partner with you for your student’s education. We want to make sure that your student’s experience is as safe and beneficial as is possible and have created the following guidelines to help with that goal. Please take the time to review these guidelines. When you have reviewed these guidelines and agree to abide by them, please sign and return. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Drop off and Pick up Middle School Students (5th-8th graders) - must be signed in and out at the classroom entrance. If a person other than the parent/guardian will be picking up your child, list them on this form in the space provided. High school students - may attend the tutorial without the parent/guardian if desired. Please indicate that on the form provided. List any drivers that may pick up your child in the space provided. *Students must go directly to the classroom. Wandering through the church building will not be tolerated. Please pick up students promptly from classes. Students are not permitted to be unattended in the church.
Restroom Students are encouraged to use the restroom between classes. This practice keeps students from missing valuable class time. If a student feels the need to use the restroom during class, they will only be permitted one at a time. Unless medically directed otherwise, excessive requests to leave the class will result in us contacting a parent.
Cell Phone Use Students are not permitted to answer phones (calls or texts) during class. Students are not allowed to take pictures or video. Cell phones should be placed on silent mode in their bags and not used during tutorial.
Allergy Aware Tutorial We want all students to be able to safely participate in our classes. For this reason, we do not allow foods with the following ingredients: peanuts, tree nuts, and fish. DO NOT BRING ANY FOOD THAT CONTAINS PEANUTS, TREE NUTS, OR FISH IN ANY FORM TO CLASS. We have students enrolled with serious allergies to these ingredients.
Food/SnacksStudents may bring food and snacks from home with the permission of their teacher. Each teacher reserves the right to create their own policies regarding snacks. Foods that contain peanuts, tree nuts, or fish are not permitted. Students will not be allowed to visit snack or drink machines in the building unless a parent/guardian is present.
Medical I hereby authorize Jackson Tutorial to seek and consent to emergency medical attention for my child as needed; and I further agree to be liable for and to pay all costs incurred in connection with such medical attention.
Dress Code Wear clothing that allows you to fully participate in class. Make sure your body is appropriately covered and does not have text or graphics with profanity or sexual innuendos.
Student Violence and/or Bullying
We do not tolerate violence and/or bullying. Students will keep hands to themselves and treat others with kindness and respect. All acts of violence will be reported to parents. If deemed necessary for the safety of other students, the student may be expelled from the tutorial. Expulsion for behavior will not be eligible for a refund.
Extreme Disruption Students are at our classes to learn. Please refrain from behaviors that would keep others from learning. This includes, but is not limited to: yelling, running around the classroom, harassing others, etc. If disruption or violence is considered extreme, the parent will be contacted for pick-up, and the student will not be allowed to return to class. Expulsion for extreme disruption will not be eligible for a refund.
Destruction of Property I agree to accept full responsibility, financially or otherwise, for any damage my child may do to the property of First Baptist Church or other’s personal property.
A copy of the student handbook will be given to each student to read over and sign at the beginning of the school year.
